This recipe happened by mistake when I couldn't be bothered taking my kefir yogurt and Seed Cycle Blend separately. So I put them together, added some mustard and seasoning and BAM! It's a probiotic seed hummus using our LUT blend.
Pre and probiotics are so important for being able to absorb the nutrients in our food. Pre-biotics are the foods that our good bacteria live off like artichokes, garlic, onions, leek or asparagus. Pro-biotics are live bacteria that we replenish in the gut - things like kefir, sauerkraut, tempeh, kimchi or miso.
Seed cycling not only helps balance hormones but also offers several benefits for gut health. By improving fiber intake (seeds are high in fiber), promoting healthy gut bacteria (seeds are pre-biotic), and reducing inflammation (high Omega-3 fatty acids are anti-inflammatory), it supports digestion and contributes to overall well-being. Right, let's get to the recipe.
Ingredients:
- 2 Tbsp of Seed Cycle Blend LUT
- 1-2 Tbsp of runny milk kefir (depending on your desired thickness)
- 1/2 tsp Dijon mustard
- Pinch of sea salt and pepper (add more to your taste)
Directions:
- Combine all ingredients and add to any meal or snack.
- Refrigerate and use within 3 days
This recipe can be really tangy depending on how sour your Kefir is. I make my own Kefir and this batch was quite sour. Experiment with the flavours and seasoning and see what you like.
